Capabilities
Technologies Used
There are many R&D Centers, Universities and entrepreneurial companies developing technologies that can be printed using fully additive processes. These technologies include sensors, batteries, displays, memory, transistors and passive devices. Soligie is positioned within the industry to provide these early stage technology developers with a path to volume manufacturing. Soligie often partners with the R&D organizations during technology development to ensure that the materials and process used early in the development phase of a technology can be scaled to robust volume manufacturing. Soligie selects the appropriate technologies for our customer’s products based on their functional requirements and program goals.
Printing Platforms
Soligie utilizes our prototyping lab to prove out the initial concepts for both design and materials. This lab enables us to use the same or similar technologies to those used in the final manufacturing process. The earlier in the process the final materials and methods are introduced the better.
Our manufacturing facility houses multiple printing platforms. Soligie will select the appropriate printing platform and technology based on the product design, functional requirements, and the overall program requirements.
The semi-automatic flat bed screen printing system and drying system can be used for low-to-moderate volume manufacturing. This sheet fed system aligns well when the downstream manufacturing processes are sheet fed.
Soligie is one of only a few companies in the USA able to print functional materials with flexographic technology on a roll-to-roll platform. This multi station printing system combines both flexographic and rotary screen capability. In addition we are able to print multiple layers, both sides of the web, and as well as vias enabling circuits to be connected through the web. In some cases this can be accomplished in a single pass. This roll-to-roll platform enables further processing in the roll form often resulting in more efficient manufacturing.
Materials Knowledge
Soligie is well positioned with the companies developing and manufacturing functional materials for the industry. Often these companies will bring their new materials to Soligie for evaluation. This enables Soligie to select the latest and best materials available to develop solutions that will meet our customer’s product requirements. Soligie selects from the best materials available for each unique application.
Finishing
Many of our customer’s products require further converting after the printing process. Soligie can coordinate and manage this converting process for our customers. This provides a single point of contact for the entire program. We are also able to provide input on converting and finishing options and the customer will own the final decision and manage the finishing process.
